Using Altered States for Healing

Updated: Jan 15, 2024

Our brain always registers 100% of everything that is happening around us and inside our mind. However, the experts estimate that we are consciously aware of just 10% or less. Meanwhile, there is a lot of subconscious activity going on behind the scenes, and that activity influences our thoughts and actions, even though we are not aware of it.

If we want to be more in control of our own journey, we need to evolve our conscious mind and learn how to influence the subconscious.

The question is, how do we access this subconscious system? In our quest to accessing our full potential, we must be more consciously aware of the deeper processes of our brain. And this is where it gets really exciting.

Neurons in our brain naturally vibrate at a certain frequency. If we synchronize this vibration to the desired frequency, we directly influence the neural networks and create a shift in the frequency of our own brain waves. Why is this so exciting? Different brain states help us access different levels of consciousness.

Everything begins with relaxing. The Alpha brain wave state is a gateway between waking and sleeping. It is the frequency bridge between our conscious and subconscious mind. The more we relax, the deeper we go, and our subconscious mind becomes accessible. And here is where we get the opportunity to use our internal resources for physical and emotional healing.

And from Alpha, we ultimately move through into the Theta brain wave state, which is an even deeper, more meditative state. And this allows us to access our deeper intuition and internal guidance. We access both Alpha and Theta states during hypnosis or deep meditation.

Our waking state is the Beta state, which happens when we focus on the outer world. When we relax, we slow down the brainwaves and we are able to open ourselves to our spiritual energies that allow us to tap into intuition, imagery, symbols and sacred geometry patterns that lie in the fabric of higher dimensions.

Another state where we access these building blocks of creation is during sleep, in the Delta state. Our dreams communicate to us through these symbols and if we are open to our intuition, we may even perceive these energies when fully awake.

In order to access these altered states, we must bring our awareness to what we can call the introspection bridge – this is where we begin to tune in to ourselves and bring our conscious awareness inwards. The key is to shift our attention away from the outside world and into our body.

Over time and with practice, we will be able to shift into the Alpha brain wave state at will, even with our eyes open. But to start, we begin by closing our eyes and relaxing. Start by releasing tension, letting go of physical attachments and allow the mind to drift, just following your breath and allowing a feeling of detachment from your physical body. Tai Chi, Yoga, Qi gong, guided meditation or breathwork are also great tools that helps us bring our mind and attention inwards.

Ultimately, this kind of introspection allows us to connect deeply with our inner self and ask questions about deeper meaning, purpose or learnings that we are supposed to take from life or certain situations.

If we focus on the external world, the answers will not come. By asking the question inwards, we open the possibilities to change and transformation.

However, there might be blocks that we encounter on this inner journey that prevent us from fully accessing our inner potential – our own emotions. And the only way to remove these emotional blocks is to get to the core, release and heal them.

Healing suppressed emotions is the key to purifying our vibration. And purifying our vibration is an important component of accessing altered states. Everything is energy and everything is vibration. Including the food we eat, the mood we are in or the thoughts we think. It is all vibrational. Just like our brain waves.

So how do we deal with emotions that we may not even be consciously aware of? How do we purify our energy and align our vibration to access the inner guidance?

The very first challenge is to face ourselves, to sit with ourselves, and be honest with what we feel. This can be uncomfortable because the emotions buried deep within may rise up. It may be an emotional experience, but it can be very healing. If we don’t heal the suppressed emotions, they go into a passive state, and we may lose conscious awareness of them. However, they create subconscious blocks or limitations that impact the way we behave or think about ourselves and others. Our goal is to go in and heal. In order to heal and release, we bring the emotions form the passive state to the active one and we do that by allowing ourselves to feel and listen.

The next step is to release the emotional blocks in a safe and constructive way. Once the emotion is released and healed, we return to the state of grace and experience greater coherence within ourselves. This naturally raises or vibration and allows us easily access altered states for increased intuition and guidance.

There are many tools that help us process our suppressed emotions – journaling, using affirmations, using essential oils, music or self-hypnosis.

Without this internal work, the suppressed energy gets stored in our cells and in our organs and this can lead to chronic health issues. We may try to treat the physical body but there is an emotional source. And when an unresolved emotion manifests physically it causes illness and physical symptoms.

Hypnotherapy is a great way to find, release and heal the emotional blockages. This helps us on our way to internal balance and improved physical and mental health. Using the combination of energetic architecture, hypnotherapy and energetic healing brings the body back to it’s natural state of wellbeing.

Give yourself a permission to raise your vibrational harmony.
